Even with the problematic tariff war between the USA and China, Huawei has been sticking to their launch timelines for the most part. Invites for the launch of the Mate 30 Pro have gone live and hint at a launch on September 19th.
The invite’s theme seems to be quite “circular” and we believe Huawei is teasing a circular camera module. We’ve covered this in our analysis of Mate 30 Pro leaks if you can recall! Hardware wise we don’t have much information aside from the fact that the phone will be using the all new Kirin 990 manufactured in-house by Huawei.
Camera wise there are a couple of rumors suggesting that we might see a dual 48MP set-up along with two other sensors. If the setup on the P30 Pro is anything to go by, we’ll probably be seeing a feature-packed zoom lens along with a wide angle and time of flight sensor.
Huawei will be launching the phone in Munich amidst an international audience. We might be blindsided with Huawei’s own OS (HarmonyOS) when the phone launches. With the trade tariff issue hitting Huawei’s software development quite squarely on the kneecaps, the Chinese company may opt out of using Android altogether! Let’s keep a tight watch and have our fingers crossed!
