    Huawei Makes The CentOS-Based Linux Distro OpenEuler Open-Source

    Huawei has released the source code of its CentOS-Based Linux Distribution OppenEuler. OpenEuler is the community edition of EulerOS. You will find the source code on the Microsoft owned Github, so don’t go there. The OpenEuler’s source code has been made available on the Gitee platform, which is a Chines GitHub alternative.

    We are very excited at this moment. It was hard to imagine that we will manage thousands of repositories. And to ensure that they can be compiled successfully, we would like to thank all those who participated in contributing

    About OpenEuler

    OpenEuler is based on CentOS and has been further nourished by Huawei technologies for building enterprise applications. It is designed for ARM64 architecture servers.

    At the moment, there are more than 50 contributors and 600 commits for openEuler, as said by openEuler. OpenEuler is compatible with OCI and will cater to the IoT and Cloud infrastructure needs.

    The repositories include two new projects: iSulad and A-Tune. iSulad is a lightweight container runtime daemon that is designed for IoT and Cloud infrastructure whereas A-Tune is an OS tuning software based on AI. iSulad is written in C. Furthermore, Huawei has said that these systems have been build on the Huawei Cloud through script automation.

    You can download the ISO file of openEuler directly from its official site or click the download button given below.

    Talking about the documentation, you will face difficulty as it is not available in the English language. We’ll have to wait for the English version to arrive.
