HTC has been quite quiet after announcing the Desire 20 Pro 5G last year. The company has again made a comeback into the smartphone market with the Desire 21 Pro 5G.
HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G Features and Specifications
Desire 21 Pro 5G packs in a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) display upfront. The display supports refresh rates of up to 90Hz, and has a 16MP front facing punch hole camera up top. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 690G.
Snapdragon 690G is an octa core chipset with two cores clocked at 2GHz, and six cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It’s based on 8nm node process technology. Latest smartphones like iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 have chipsets that are based on 5nm node process technology. So this is clearly a mid-range smartphone.
For those wondering about GPU, Snapdragon 690G has a 619L GPU inside. Desire 21 Pro 5G comes with 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. HTC has even included a MicroSD card slot in the phone, just in case.
Other features of HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, quad camera setup at the back. It’s got a 48MP primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, an 8MP 118˚ ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth, and 2MP 4cm macro camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The phone has a whopping 5000 mAh battery inside. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, and 18W fast wired charging.
HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G comes in two colours — purple and blue. It’s priced at $ 428 (~ ₹31,260) and will be Taiwan exclusive for now.
HTC, for the past few years, has been quite on and off. With the company not focusing much on the global market, it’s really hard to say if the smartphone will make it anywhere. The company announced its R70 last year, and is yet to be seen anywhere. Whether this smartphone will make a difference? Only time is to tell.
