HP rolls out Envy laptops with updated Intel and AMD processors

    HP has updated its Envy and Envy x360 lineup of laptops with the latest Intel and AMD processors. HP says the newer models will provide better battery life and enhanced performance in a thin and light form factor. They have also updated the design to a more modern look with very thin bezels and larger screen to body ratio.

    HP ENVY 13 AND 17

    These are the traditional clamshell laptops with various configurations. Users can pick from Intel’s 8th gen processors with up to 12GB RAM and a dedicated GPU. The anodized silver or gold options give it a premium look.

    HP Envy 13 and 17 will have options up to the Intel Core i7-8565U, replacing the i7-8550U. The new CPU has a base clock of 1.8 GHz, with a maximum turbo boost up to 4.6 GHz, and a TDP of 15W.

    The 13.3-inch model has a 1080p, IPS BrightView touch display driven by Intel HD 620 graphics. It can be configured with up to 8 GB DDR4-2400 RAM and a 256 GB PCI NVMe M.2 SSD. Bluetooth 5.0 support along with the new 9560 802.11ac WIFI are also included.

    The 17-inch model is identical albeit with a larger screen and a dedicated NVIDIA MX250 graphics card (2 GB). The bezels have been reduced by 45%. The memory options go up to 12 GB of RAM (1×4 + 1×8) with 32 GB of Intel Optane memory, and up to 512 GB PCI NVMe M.2 SSD.

    Both of these devices will start from 899$ US. Availability in India will be followed after.

    HP has also updated its x360 Envy lineup with AMD’s new Ryzen processors along with the Intel lineup. The Intel-powered versions go up to i7 8565U, while the AMD ones max out with the 2nd-gen Ryzen 7 3700U. Intel models will stick to the Intel UHD 620, while users opting for AMD can choose from the Radeon RX Vega 8 to Vega 10 GPUs.

    The displays used in both the 13 and 15- inch models are FHD IPS WLED- backlit panels. The RAM can be configured up to 8 GB DDR4 and internal storage up to 256 GB PCI M.2 SSD. Audio is powered by Bang and Olufsen.

    Envy x360 13 will start at 699.99$ US. The 15-inch Intel-powered notebooks will start at 869.99$, while the AMD variants will be priced at 799.99$.
