Honor 50 to launch in “Honor Code” colour on August 30

    Today, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor announced that the company would be announcing a new “Honor Code” colour for the Honor 50 series. Honor released a promotional video announcing the same.

    In a Weibo post, the company said, “The inspirational collision of colours and lines shows the artistic tension of fashion. Aesthetic design benchmark Honor 50 series once again lead the design trend. Let’s decrypt HONOR Code, a new colour matching Honor code, see you on Monday!”

    According to the announcement, it seems like the company would be announcing a new colour for the Honor 50 series, matching its branding. The new colour scheme for the Honor 50 series would be announced on August 30.

    Earlier this year, the company announced the Honor 50 series, including the Honor 50, 50 Pro and 50 SE. Both the smartphones models come with a 120Hz display, 108MP main camera and up to 100W fast charging. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G SoC powers the Honor 50 and 50 Pro. The Honor P50 and P50 Pro come in Snow Crystal, Bright Black, Ink Jade Green, and Summer Amber colours.

    The Pro model sports a curved FHD+ 6.72-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Meanwhile, the vanilla model comes with a flat 6.57-inch panel with the same features. The Pro features a pill-shaped cutout in the front housing 32MP primary and 12MP ultrawide camera, whereas the vanilla has a 32MP front-facing camera housed inside the punch-hole cutout.

    Both the models are powered by Snapdragon 778G coupled with 8 or 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Both of them runs Magic UI 4.2 on top of Android 11. The Pro model boasts a 4,000mAh battery with support for 100W charging, while the vanilla model comes with a larger 4,400mAh battery supporting 66W charging.

    The Honor 50 and 50 Pro sport the same 108MP primary camera at the back. The main camera is coupled with an 8MP ultrawide camera and two 2MP cameras for macro and portrait shots. The smartphones come with a VLOG mode that can simultaneously record video from the front and both cameras.

    The Honor 50 series starts at 2,699 ($422) for the vanilla and CNY 3,699 ($578) for the Pro model.
