Google Duo is back again with another update which will make video calling easier for users of the app. Google Duo, the video calling app, is coming to Android TV. Currently, Google Duo has decided that it will launch a Beta version on the Android TV which is expected to reach us in a week globally.

This Beta version is said to be released “in the coming weeks”. The update will let users use the app for both one-on-one and group video calls.

According to Google Duo, if an Android TV does not have an in-built camera, then for the video call to happen, the users can buy a plug-in USB camera. Not just on Android TV, Google Duo and Google Meet also will work without any problem on Nest Hub Max. This feature will definitely make online classes and office meetings interesting and hassle-free.

It has also been reported that Google is now planning to include certain features which were available on Google Duo in Google Meet. It could also be possible that that company can merge both Google Duo and Meet together, however, Google would still be bringing in updates for the Google Duo app.

During this pandemic, video conferencing apps trying to expand their services of video communication by launching them on bigger screens is hugely beneficial for the users. Google is adding the Chromecast feature so now work online gets more flexible and easier. Sometimes one can just not need to turn on their laptops, phones or PCs, they can sit in front of their TV and be a part of an online meet.

Sitting continuously at a work setup can be tiring, so while lying comfortably on one’s couch, the user can be a part of the video conferences online. This expansion of the app will prove beneficial for Google as there is stiff competition in the market from both Zoom and Microsoft Teams. It is assumed that under the current circumstances, video call meets are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Whether you want to step away from the notifications on your laptop or phone to be more present in a meeting or you’re on mute in a larger meeting and want to concentrate on your task at hand, casting to your TV can help you be more productive and stay focused,” mentioned TJ Varghese, Group Product Manager of Google Meet hardware.

This particular feature of Google Cast shall be made available for all Google Meet users. Since casting happens through Chromecast, so devices such as TVs with the built-in Chromecasts functionality, along with Nest displays, will be able to operate this feature.
