Gigabyte might be preparing forty different variants of the GeForce RTX 2060 GPU if their latest entry to the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) is to be believed.
The leak lists three different SKUs of the RTX 2060: 6 GB, 4 GB, and 3GB, and in addition to this, there are also GDDR6 and GDDR5(X) variants of each SKU.
Until now, it was expected that only one variant with 6 GB GDDR6 was to be launched, but if this new leak actually turns out to be true, consumers will get multiple models to choose from.
Interestingly, for the 4 GB model, since this graphics card is not expected to have a 192-bit memory bus, the 4 GB variant will probably be a higher-clocked SKU. On the other hand, the 6 GB and 3 GB models are expected to have the same clock speeds but with different CUDA core counts, just like the old GTX 1060 series.
The listed models are divided into two series, GD and GC. GD series represents all the RTX 20 series cards with GDDR6 memory while the GC series is for the cards using GDDR5(X) memory. It’s not confirmed if the memory used for the GC series is whether GDDR5 or GDDR5X.
