A Vietnamese online store by the name of H2 Extreme Gaming just listed the ASUS ROG STRIX 1180 as available for pre-order. While the page was immediately taken down, people were quick to screenshot all the details, revealing the release date, price, as well as the specifications for the GeForce GTX 1180 OEM card. Do keep in mind that this is indeed a very dubious listing.
According to said details, the ASUS ROG STRIX 1180 will release on September 28th, priced at an astounding $1530. The purpose of this high pricing is probably for the initial batch to extract as much profit as possible from the mining market and the cost should come down with subsequent batches.
The ASUS ROG STRIX 1180 will be using the GT104 GPU featuring 3584 CUDA cores, 16GB of GDDR6 Micron VRAM with a 256-bit bus width and a 14Gbps memory speed.
This could be further confirmation to the naming scheme of NVIDIA’s next generation of Graphics Cards which are very likely to be announced either this or next month. But there’s no doubt that the price is ridiculously high for a card whose predecessor costed less than half the amount.
