Epic Games just announced that their popular title Fortnite is coming to the mobile platform. The port is coming to both iOS and Android, for phones as well as tablets. It will be the same 100 player battle royale that you know from PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the same gameplay, content, maps, and weekly updates.
The company has worked with Sony to enable cross platform experience, which means that mobile users will be able to team up with and play against PC, Mac and PS4 users simultaneously. Microsoft probably wasn’t very interested in the idea of cross platform play, which is why the Xbox One is missing from the list.
“We believe this is the future of games,” said Epic during the announcement. “The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.”
Starting Monday, iOS users can sign up to receive invites, and those who get the invites will also get friend invite codes that can be shared. Android users however will have to wait a few months to get access to the game.
