Final Fantasy XV launched all the way back in November 2016, but the game has continued to generate decent sales for Square Enix, even in 2018. Yesterday, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XV has sold more than 8 million units worldwide.
This announcement comes six months after the launch of a dedicated PC port of the game in March this year. Square Enix has also confirmed a special anniversary panel to be held in Novemeber. In case you are wondering, this isn’t the end for Final Fantasy XV as more content is scheduled to arrive in 2019.
These upcoming DLCs will explore Ardyn’s past and detail the events that resulted in his intense hatred towards Lucis, especially Noctis. Luna’s fate will also be revealed, including the burdens of being the Oracle.
That’s not all, though. Square Enix has also announced the Pocket Edition of Final Fantasy XV for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The pocket edition features sprite versions of the game characters with old school graphics. However, it contains the entire game and is already available on PC and mobile platforms for free.
