For gaming fans across the world, there is no doubt that the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake has been big news. The hype around the game was already huge before it arrived. This is hardly surprising, given the number of super fans who have been eagerly awaiting it.

It’s fair to say that Final Fantasy VII Remake seems to be living up to the hype. In just three days digital sales and shipments of the games surpassed 3.5 million units. This seems to be in line with research by Betway which suggested that games are challenging films and music for superiority in the entertainment world. Of course, part of the reason for the popularity of video games is the way that the characters come to life. Voice actors like Britt Baron and Briana White help to make this happen.

Introducing Britt and Briana

When a game like Final Fantasy VII Remake relies so much on the acceptance of an already dedicated fanbase, it’s essential to get the characterization right. In the case of characters Tifa Lockhart and Aerith Gainsborough this job fell to Britt Baron and Briana White. So, who are these two actors that fans are relying on?

Britt Baron has previous experience of voicing characters in a game, in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. She had also acted in TV dramas including Criminal Minds Beyond Borders and Grey’s Anatomy.

Research and respect for the characters

Britt Baron has spoken about having trust in the creative team behind Final Fantasy VII Remake when it came to researching her role. She listened to what they expected from her and put her skill as a voice artist to use to make it happen. She also followed a lot of the work that had been done by actors who voiced the character of Tifa before her.

Brianna White has said that she wanted to understand the character of Aerith in order to breathe life into her. She also stated that she respected the work of actors who had voiced the character in the past, while bringing her own angle to the role in the new game. It was important to White that this was very much her version of Aerith.

The approach of both of these talented voice actors certainly seems to have been a hit with fans who have relished the opportunity to be part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake gaming experience. It seems as though the game is going to be a huge hit given the amount of money it has already made.
