The final beta test for Sea of Thieves is live, and it’s got an array of surprises for all gaming fans. The game is going to be launched on March 20th, on Xbox One and PC.
Unlike the previous beta tests, this one anyone is open for all to download the game client and try Sea of Thieves out. This feature was previously only available to people who pre-ordered.
Sea of Thieves can now be downloaded from the store on Xbox One and Windows 10. To install, you will just need to search for and install the Sea of Thieves Final Beta. It requires an Xbox LIVE account for the user, with an additional Xbox LIVE Gold subscription required on Xbox One.
The beta test will give people a chance to experience the action, and the developers have unlocked some fresh content as well. “In the Final Beta, alongside the Gold Hoarders, we will be testing Merchant Alliance voyages for the first time, giving players an entirely new way to play.” Developer Rare revealed. “As well, we are now introducing an emergent, intense opportunity into the world, with the chance of a Skeleton Fort now being occupied. Watch out for that tell-tale Skull Cloud above a fort which indicates the chance of great rewards, but also great risk.
The Xbox One X enhancements will also be available in the beta test.
Sea of Thieves has been very successful on livestreaming platforms like Twitch and Microsoft’s very own Mixer. It was among the most watched games. Through this last beta, Rare has a chance to reach out to a much larger audience before the game is available to buy and download.
With new content, open sourcing, and changes in the game visuals, Sea of Thieves has a chance to make it a must-have game in 2018. Here’s hoping Rare and Microsoft are able to live up to the hype.
