Since Realme announced its foray into the laptop space, there has been quite a buzz around it on social media lately. The Oppo sub-brand has officially revealed that its first laptop will debut as Realme Book Slim in India, and it will launch on August 18 alongside the Realme GT series of smartphones. Besides the official teasers, the pricing and specs of the laptop have already been leaked. This leak suggests that the Realme Book Slim will be competitively priced and will go head-to-head with Xiaomi and Redmi Notebooks in the segment. Here’s everything we know about the laptop so far.
As per an image tipped by TechTipster, the Realme Book laptop will have a price tag of CNY 4,699 (around Rs 53,800). There seem to be two colour options – Silver and Blue. Since its Chinese pricing, we can speculate the Realme Book Slim could be priced around Rs 55,000 in India. As per other leaks and rumours, the base Intel i3 powered variant could start around Rs 40,000.
Realme Book Slim is said to have a 3:2 aspect ratio with 100 percent sRGB colour, 90% screen-body ratio, and 2K resolution (2160 X 1440P). It is also said to come with a backlit keyboard and a metallic chassis. Well, in terms of design it is heavily inspired by Apple Macbook. The laptop is expected to be powered by the 11th-gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU coupled with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. As the name suggests, it is going to be slim, measuring just 14.9mm in thickness. It will also support DTS audio and 65W power delivery charging.
Moreover, Madhav Seth, Realme India/Europe CEO, has shared a poster of the upcoming laptop that showed the Thunderbolt 4, USB A 3.1, USB Type-C 3.2, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The laptop will run on Windows 10 OS out-of-the-box and should receive the Windows 11 update later this year. Another unique feature touted by the company is the PC Connect feature that will allow controlling your Realme phone directly from the laptop. Besides the Intel Core i5 variant, there will be an Intel Core i3 variant as well.
