Leak season is upon us again, and this time it seems like Epic Games Store has secured two huge exclusives, in the form of Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for PC.
Epic Games Data, an Epic Games database website has uncovered some juicy details about two hugely exciting products that might be coming to the Epic Games Store as exclusives as soon as December 2021.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and Alan Wake Remastered have been found listed as games in the Epic Games Database.
Interestingly, both names had been given code names in the database, which were “PineappleQA” for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and “HeronStaging” for Alan Wake Remastered. Although, those could be easily figured out by looking into the CloudSaveFolder, which unveiled it all.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade came out on the 10th of June and is supposed to be an exclusive for the PlayStation 5 for at least 6 months. That leaves it free to be released on PC via the Epic Games Store from December 10th onward.
Alan Wake Remastered was listed under Remedy games, the original developers of the game. They received the rights of the game back from Microsoft in 2019, and have since signed a multi-game deal with Epic Games in 2020.
Final Fantasy 7 remake Intergrade is a next-gen only upgrade for the PS5, which introduces a new plotline for Yuffie, alongside the usual, expected performance improvements. Final Fantasy 7 Remake itself was the remake of a classic of the same name and received rave reviews when it was released.
It wasn’t the complete remake of the game, as the story stops at about the halfway point of the original game. Thus, a Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 2 (quite a mouthful) is expected to release sometime in the future. The game is already said to be “more open” than its predecessor.
Alan Wake was created by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Studios in 2012. A sequel was nixed, however, as the publishing rights of the franchise were to remain with Microsoft. After acquiring the game’s rights in 2019, Remedy Entertainment was able to release an Alan Wake DLC on their latest game, Control.
Alan Wake Remastered has the capacity to turn millions of heads it’s way, seeing as the original Alan Wake was critically acclaimed and loved by millions. Since it also released during the PS3 and Xbox Era, a graphical upgrade could really freshen the series.
