It looks like Cyberpunk 2077 can still take a lot more beating than it already has, as footage from a 2013 build with third-person gameplay has now leaked.

The leaked gameplay video segment made its way into a 4chan board, which isn’t surprising. The gameplay video is allegedly from an extremely early build, which at that point must have been an early prototype. Not only was the game being built with a third-person viewpoint, it was also set to have very different interactive mechanics akin to something from Mass Effect or Deus Ex.

You can check out the gameplay segment here, although it’s possible that it might have been deleted by now. If the video doesn’t load, try using a VPN.

Appreciating Night City in Cyberpunk 2077

From what we know, CD Projekt Red’s main development team started work on the game right after The Witcher 3 came out in 2015, which puts the leaked footage in the early prototype category. After all, for the longest time it was a common belief that the game was going to be a third-person RPG like The Witcher franchise. It was only around its E3 2018 reveal that it was confirmed to be completely in first-person.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, along with being playable on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles via backwards compatibility. The game is still not available on the PlayStation store.
