Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably this year’s most anticipated game, and a new report shows that it is in fact best selling game in India this generation.

Rishi Alwani (The Mako Reactor), who has been covering the games industry in India for a while now, has now reported that Cyberpunk 2077 is India’s best-selling PC game in a long while.

“Multiple retailers across the country tell us that Cyberpunk 2077 is quite likely the most pre-ordered PC game of all time in India, selling 6-8 times more than the console versions.”

Alwani goes on to say that some stores claim it’s pre-order numbers are higher than GTA V, which launched all the way back in 2013. The game is also outpacing titles like FIFA and Call of Duty, which enjoy good sales figures on consoles. These numbers are a result of the game’s relatively cheaper price on PC, as well as coming with multiple goodies included in the retail package.

Certain retailers like Games The Shop have also been giving away a free Cyberpunk T-shirt with pre-orders. Currently, the game’s PC pre-order version is out of stock on Games The Shop and Amazon. The game’s sales success in India can also be partly attributed to CDPR’s partnership with well-known brands like Oneplus, which enjoys a devoted following in India.

With the game’s impending release in a few days, marketing for the game has been ramping up quite steadily. The game’s marketing has not just sold more next-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S), but its PC release is also heavily pushing NVIDIA’s graphics cards off the shelves.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on December 10th on Steam, GOG, PS4, PS5 (backward compatibility), Xbox One, Xbox Series X (backward compatibility) and Google Stadia.
