CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the year’s hotly awaited releases. Announced at E3 2018, CDPR has slowly revealed bits and pieces of gameplay since. However, one of the complaints that were raised against those videos was its relatively muddy quality, which was due to the low bitrate of the videos on YouTube. Well, one YouTuber has now managed to upscale the deep dive video to 8K!

As per the YouTuber, the video took 21 hours to render on a beefy system housing an NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti and an Intel Core i7-9700K. He has also uploaded the uncompressed 8K video link which you can grab here. Beware though, as that video is almost 16GB in size!

Previously he also uploaded the 48 minute gameplay demo, also upscaled to 8K. As you can imagine, that video takes up quite an amount of space – 60 GB to be exact.

Even if you have a 1080p monitor, watching the new video at that resolution is a better option than the original upload. We all know YouTube gives precedence to higher quality files, reserving better encoding and higher bitrates to large files at 4K and 8K. That’s why when viewing on a lower resolution display, those videos will still look much cleaner than the original upload with a lower bitrate.

As for new gameplay, we’re bound to get more of that later this summer as the game nears its release date.

Cyberpunk 2077 comes out on PC, PS4, Xbox One on September 17, and on Xbox Series X and PS5 when those consoles launch.
