Recently a leak by Wallmart gave away a bunch of E3 listings, and one of them was Bethesda’s Rage 2. The way Bethesda reacted to the leak was more than a little unexpected.
The Rage Twitter account not only responded to the Wallmart leak, but also corrected the artwork and set it as it’s profile picture. Now you don’t do that with a fake leak. Bethesda’s Twitter account also make a remark with a tweet simply saying, “Dude.” Pete Hines, Bethesda’s marketing lead also took part in the shenanigans saying, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”
Bethesda has now teased an upcoming announcement with an image of the Big Ben smudged with a pink graffiti. The publisher followed up this tweet with another one featuring a rocket with pink smoke, the same color used on the Big Ben graffiti. Now one thing you gotta take note of here, is that this is the same shade of pink Bethesda’s Rage account used to correct the Wallmart listing for Rage 2. The rocket with the pink smoke also has a marking stating 5-14, so an announcement or reveal is highly likely on 14th May.
The Big Ben leak with the graffiti had the time set to 5:14, so there is a possibility that will be the time if the reveal. This could just be curiosity getting the better of fans or it could very well be a clue.
As E3 is fast approaching, both fans and publishers are gearing up for the mega-event and Bethesda too is readying itself to show gamers what it has prepared for the coming year. Rage 2 is just one of the titles expected from Bethesda. Bethesda’s E3 showcase is slated for 10th June, so that’s when everything will become clear.
