Best Gaming Laptops under Rs. 1 Lakh in India (2019)

As technology advances, gaming laptops are becoming more and more popular. Where once iGPUs dominated most handheld notebooks, now we’re seeing discrete GPUs in laptops that are every bit as beefy as their desktop counterparts. NVIDIA’s Max-Q parts offer 80-90% performance of the full-fludged variants, and if that’s not enough you even get the latter without a significant increase in weight. In this post, we put together the list of the best gaming laptops you can buy under 1,00,000 (1 lakh) rupees.

Best Gaming Laptop for 1080p 120Hz: ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DV

    • Price: Rs. 87,990 (Link)
    • Processor: Ryzen 7-3750H
    • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GDDR6 with 6GB VRAM
    • Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz
    • Storage: PCIe NVMe 512GB M.2 SSD
    • I/O: 1 x Type-A USB 2.0,2x Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1x HDMI 2.0
    • Screen: 15.6-inch 120Hz IPS
    • Weight: 2.20Kg

The ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DV is the best gaming laptop you’ll find under the 1 Lakh mark. With a Ryzen 7 3750H and an NVIDIA RTX 2060 under the hood, it easily yields 100+ FPS in the most demanding games at 1080p. For memory and storage, it consists of a 512GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM. As if that weren’t enough, it also includes a 120Hz screen with an IPS panel. With all this, it weighs just 2.2Kg. At this price-point, there’s simply no better laptop on offer. An RTX 2060 along with a 120Hz IPS panel under 90K is pretty much unbeatable. This CPU isn’t the same as the 3rd Gen Ryzen processors in the desktop DIY market, but rather the Picasso chips based on the 12nm Zen+ design. They’re not quite as fast as the Matisse parts, but should do just fine.

Best Gaming Laptop (Runners Up): MSI GL63 9SD

    • Price: Rs. 79,990 (Link)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-9300H
    • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GDDR6 with 6GB VRAM

The MSI GL63 9SD comes in at a close second after the ASUS TUF, predominantly because of the graphics card. While the GL63’s GeForce GTX 1660Ti is definitely not on par with the RTX 2060, it still offers a decent value. At just under 80K, it includes an Intel Core i5-9300H, 8GB of RAM, and even a 256 GB SSD. It also packs the amazing I/O that MSI is popular for. While ray-tracing performance is out of the question, the NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti mobile is one of the best GPUs for gaming at 1080p, which is a perfect fit for the crisp 1080p IPS panel as well. Moreover, it has great cooling and is quite silent even under heavy loads. If you don’t desire the smoothness of 120Hz, and would instead prefer 60 FPS at 1080p, then go for this gaming laptop.

Best Budget Gaming Laptop #1: ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT

    • Price: Rs. 52,990 (Link)
    • Processor: Ryzen 5-3550H
    • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GDDR5 with 4GB VRAM
    • Memory: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz
    • Storage: PCIe NVMe 512GB M.2 SSD
    • I/O: 1 x Type-A USB 2.0,2x Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1x HDMI 2.0
    • Screen: 15.6-inch 120Hz IPS
    • Weight: 2.20Kg

The ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT is one of the best-valued gaming laptops around. With an AMD Ryzen 5 3550H and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 offering great 1080p gaming performance in popular AAA titles like The Witcher 3 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. For memory and storage, it packs a 512GB SSD and 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 memory. For eSports enthusiasts, this is a great buy as the 120Hz display will allow fluid gameplay in popular Battle Royale titles such as PUBG and Fortnite.

Best Budget Gaming Laptop #2: MSI Gaming GL63 9RCX-219IN

    • Price: Rs. 55,990 (Link)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-9300H
    • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GDDR5 with 4GB VRAM
    • Memory: 8GB DDR4
    • Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
    • Screen: 15.6-inch IPS
    • Weight: 2.3 Kg

This variant of the MSI GL93 doesn’t have the best GPU nor a 120Hz display, it does come with the Intel Core i5-9300H which offers great performance for single-threaded and CPU intensive workloads. The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti won’t offer ray-tracing or locked 60 FPS in the latest games, but it’s still a very capable and price-effective GPU. At a price of 56K INR, this is undoubtedly one of the best gaming laptops you can find at the moment, especially if you are looking for an Intel-powered machine.

Best Portable Gaming Laptop: MSI GF63 Thin 9SC-240IN

    • Price: Rs. 59,990 (Link)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-9300H
    • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 MAX-Q GDDR5 with 4GB VRAM
    • Memory: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz
    • Storage: PCIe NVMe 512GB M.2 SSD
    • I/O: 2 x Type-A USB 3.0, 2x Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x Mini DisplayPort
    • Screen: 15.6-inch IPS
    • Weight: 1.88 Kg

The MSI GF63 is the quietest gaming laptop on this list that performs at par with all the others on this list. It’s also one of the lightest. All these thanks to NVIDIA’s MAX-Q GPU design that results in thin, light and quiet machines that can perform just like their bulkier counterparts. The GF63 comes with a sleek chassis with a great cooling solution and a 512 GB SSD for crisp performance. It also includes stereo speakers and a great I/O. All this under 70K makes it an even better deal.
