With the core PC Build guides for gaming at various resolutions already covered, we now move onto the more obscure niches such as under 20K where every buck matters. For the under 20,000 build, we’ll be leveraging an APU instead of a dedicated GPU. If you want, you can add a discrete graphics card later on, but keep in mind that the CPU upgrade options will be limited (more on that at the end).

Since we’re limited to just 20,000 INR here, we’ll be sticking to an APU instead of a distinct CPU/GPU combo. Our recommendation is the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G. Based on the 12nm Zen+ architecture and the Vega 8 iGPU, it’s the most balanced processor available in this range. Keep in mind, you won’t be hitting 1080p 60 FPS with this system but 30-40 frames per second at low-medium should be doable.

Best Motherboard for the Ryzen 3 3200G: ASRock A320M-HDV

Price: Rs. 3,350 (Link)

Many of you will question going with a motherboard that costs less than half of the APU and that’s alright. The reason behind that is that in the ultra low-end segment, the motherboard won’t be causing any problems. Besides going with the expensive B450 chipset offsets the price advantage of the APU without providing any viable benefits. The ASRock A320M supports the 1st and 2nd Gen Ryzen processors as well as the Ryzen 3200G and the 3400G as they’re based on the design as the former and should be sufficient for this build.

Best DDR4 RAM: Adata XPG 8GB DDR4 @ 2400MHz

Price: Rs. 3,050 (Link)

Going with two 4GB DIMMs is, of course, better (only if you are willing to stretch your budget), but we’re going to stick with a single 8GB DDR4 stick. Faster memory is also an option but due to the budget constraints, we’ll be avoiding it. The ADATA XPG 8GB DDR4 RAM @ 2400MHz won’t bottleneck performance as in case of the Ryzen 3 3200G, there’s only one CCX and the Infinity Fabric doesn’t really come into the picture, eliminating the need to go with a superior kit.

Power Supply: Thermaltake Litepower 450W

Thermaltake Litepower 450W W0423RE

Price: Rs. 2,050 (Link)

Since a lot of people hate Corsair’s VS450 (despite the fact that we have tested it for two years), we opted for the Thermaltake Lite 450W. Since there’s no dGPU in this system, you can even go with a 350-400W PSU, but to be on the safer side and the ability to add an external graphics card, I’d suggest getting a 450W unit.

Case: Antec NX100/NX200

If you want a case that serves the purpose and adds some pizzazz to your build, then Antex’s NX series is a good choice:

Price: Rs. 2,250

Storage: Western Digital 1TB Blue

Price: Rs. 2,899 (Link)

WD’s Blue HDD is one of the cheapest and most reliable 7200RPM drives on the market right now. 1TB models cost around 2.9K while 2TB ones sell for 4K. However, as we’re nearing the limits of our 20K build, we’ll go for the former.

Summary: Best Budget PC Build Under Rs. 20,000 in India

  1. VS series is a straight up compromise if your build is expensive, there are several complaints that their GPU stopped working because it tend to heat up the components. But if you’re on a 20k budget and building a potato, you can definitely go for it.

  2. As it is 20k budget build asthetic is not that important compared to performance so …. Lower case budget is preferred under ₹1600 use remaining budget for SSD
