It seems like only yesterday when only a few people knew about the battle royale mode. Today, almost every game is trying to replicate the success of the genre. With PUBG and Fortnite dominating the video game streaming industry, it only makes sense that other publishers would jump on the bandwagon. One of these is going to be EA. At their E3 conference for this year, the company announced that Battlefield V will indeed have a battle royale mode.
This hardly comes as a surprise given that even this year’s Call of Duty title (Black Ops IV) will have a similar mode. What remains to be seen is whether Battlefield will be able to shake up the formula. Many gamers have been pretty upset with Fortnite, with allegations running around that it copied PUBG. Maybe Battlefield V will change that?
There haven’t been any new reveals regarding the game yet, with only the announcement of the new mode being added to the game. We’ll just have to wait and see how this pans out. Hopefully, EA will have figured out a way to revitalize the genre, and not give us a clone of the other games in it.
