In a surprise livestream, Ubisoft has now revealed the location of the next Assassin’s Creed installment. The developer/publisher collaborated with digital artist Bosslogic to reveal that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is the next title.

The livestream saw Bosslogic unveiling the first official concept art/poster for Valhalla.

You can check out a timelapse of the livestream below, where Bosslogic designed the first look in Adobe Photoshop live. The new protagonist was also revealed.

This is keeping in line with the leaks and rumors surrounding the game up to this point, with how many leaks and rumors we got about the game being called Assassin’s Creed: Vikings, with the earlier rumors calling it Valhalla and Ragnarok. At one point it was also rumored that the game will be set in Ancient Rome. Ubisoft is still yet to reveal whether Valhalla will include 4-player co-op, similar to Unity, as the rumors once suggested.

While the reveal announcement was out of nowhere, it’s quite nice that Ubisoft is finally opening up about the next big game. After Odyssey, it’s clear that Ubisoft wants to push the franchise as a fully fledged action RPG experience, a far cry from its once stealth roots.

It remains to be seen when Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will launch. Currently, it’s being guessed that like Black Flag, Valhalla will be a cross-gen launch. Ubisoft will reveal the first trailer tomorrow (April 30th, 8 am PDT).
