AMD will soon be including a copy of Horizon Zero Dawn – Complete Edition with every purchase of their Ryzen CPUs. The new bundle was spotted on AMD’s EMEA region websites. While we still don’t know the exact release date of HZD on Steam, we do know that it’s bound to be soon.
The AMD bundle on the other hand though does bring up some interesting questions. Is Horizon Zero Dawn PC an AMD-partnered title? Does that mean it will include features like AMD’s FidelityFX? We’ve seen the same done with previously partnered titles like Resident Evil 3, so it won’t be too surprising.
Although I should note that it isn’t listed as one of the ‘featured games’ on AMD’s website…yet. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best looking games of this generation, and its PC release will further demonstrate the beauty of the open-world that Guerrilla has created here.
Horizon Zero Dawn, as many players will know, was first released as a PS4 exclusive back in 2017. While Sony hasn’t really been one to share their exclusives on PC, unlike Microsoft, it seems like their stance on that might be changing. Herman Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios, recently revealed that Sony’s approach to console exclusivity might be changing with the PS5. Of course, by now it’s all but confirmed that a Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is in the works and may very well be a PS5 launch title. It certainly helps both Guerilla Games (the developer) and Sony to build up the hype to the sequel with a PC release.
For anyone out there who’s planning on getting a Ryzen CPU, this is a pretty good deal. While I’ll personally suggest waiting for Ryzen 4000, Zen 2 and its upcoming ‘XT’ refresh still provide some great value for money.
