Acer, in a bid to compete against Alienware, has unveiled it’s one of the most powerful gaming desktop in India, the Predator Orion 9000. It’s an absolute beast and features an Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition processor with up to 18 cores and 36 threads. Acer is offering the users the option to opt for either 4 AMD Radeon Vega GPUs in CrossFire configuration or up to two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti graphics cards in an SLI configuration.

The CPU is priced at a staggering Rs.3,19,999 which is not surprising just considering the price of the processor it packs. This spec sheet pits the Orion 9000 as a direct competitor to the Alienware Area 51 that has the same processor, although the Alienware CPU isn’t available in India yet.

The Predator Orion 9000 can handle up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM. It has a very convenient turbo feature that can be used to overclock at a single click. It also features an Intel Optane memory ensuring fast read and write speeds on its 2TB hard disk.

The gaming desktop has an all-in-one liquid cooling solution to care of the thermals. Acer has also introduced IceTunnel 2.0, its patented airflow management system that consists up to five intake fans to generate a positive air pressure channel. It basically separates the system into several thermal zones, each with an individual airflow tunnel to expel heat.

On the exterior, the Predator Orion 9000 has a black and silver body with customization RGB lighting along the sides of the front bezel. The desktop has quite an aggressive look to it, suitable for a behemoth it is. The side window panel keeps electromagnetic interference (EMI) levels in check due to its design aspects. Acer is also offering optional fans with customisable RGB lighting.

For taking care of the connectivity, the desktop includes two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports (one Type-C and one Type-A), eight USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports (one Type-C and seven Type-A) and two USB 2.0 (Type-A). It also supports three M.2 slots and four PCIe x16 slots to provide expansion for video cards.

The Predator Orion 9000 is the first gaming desktop with Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition and Optane memory to be available in India.

“We are thrilled to welcome to our gaming arsenal the iconic ‘Predator Orion 9000’ gaming desktop,” said Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO and Consumer Business Head, Acer India.

acer“With the launch of this, we have moved a step closer to our commitment of delivering the best gaming products for gamers at every level,” Panigrahi said.

As mentioned earlier, the Predator Orion 9000 costs Rs. 3,19,999 and is available to purchase at select Croma stores and Acer Exclusive stores.
