We’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about NVIDIA prepping faster variants of the RTX Turing cards to tackle AMD’s 7nm Navi cards (based on the RDNA arch). Yesterday, many outlets reported that the Super announcement is still pending and will most likely come during E3, right around the time AMD unveils its Radeon RX 5700 lineup. Today, Tweaktown comes with another update on the Super teaser.

According to Anthony Gareffa, we’ll be seeing three new RTX cards from NVIDIA at E3, refreshed versions of the GeForce RTX 2060, 2070 and 2080 with faster GDDR6 memory (Samsung’s 16Gbps?). These new Turing parts will be 10-15% faster than the existing models and will retail at the same prices, while the older ones will get a -$100 price-cut each, pretty much making it obligatory for AMD to do the same with the Radeon VII or become obsolete.

I’m not sure whether the RTX 2080 Ti will get any reduction in the MSRP, but it’s highly unlikely, however, given that the price gap between the GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 2060 will shrink significantly, there’s a chance that the higher-end GTX Turing cards might have their priced slashed by around $50. Of course, this is mere speculation but fret not, it’s not long till E3 now. We’ll know for sure, soon enough.
