After last month’s India-China border clash, the Indian government announced a ban on 59 apps from companies based in China. Now, a month later, the Economic Times reported earlier today that the government has documented a list of around 275+ Chinese apps that are currently under scrutiny and may undergo a complete ban in the country.

Another report from India Today also suggests that the government has already banned an additional 47 Chinese apps, as of now, and is scanning over 275 other apps that violate user-privacy and pose a threat to “national interest and security”. This was later confirmed in a statement by an IT Ministry official.

Newly banned Chinese Apps

The 47 apps that have been banned today are mostly clones of the 59 apps that were banned last month. These apps include CamScanner Advanced, TikTok Lite, and more. The official list of the newly banned apps is expected to be released soon. We’ll update the article as soon as the list is released.
